Mobility management is an initiative to change people's consciousness and behavior by utilizing walking, biking, next-generation light rail system (LRT), etc. from the state of being overly dependent on automobiles as a means of transportation (mobility). ..
Analyze why people in the target area move and why they choose the means of transportation. For example, in order to eliminate traffic congestion during commuting in industrial complexes, which is also a problem for neighboring residents, we analyze traffic behavior and implement measures to encourage behavior change.
In some cases, it not only created an environment where people can go outside the car, but also showed employees health benefits to encourage behavior change. An approach that pierces the individual's heart is indispensable for behavior change. Analysis of individual behavior is an opportunity to change society.
Now that we are witnessing climate change, it is an environment where people's behavior changes are likely to occur. Among them, it is important to update the perception of mobility of "children" living in the future and change their behavior. Therefore, Professor Masaka is working to develop mobility research into programs for elementary schools.
At the same time, not only children but also adults are required to change their behavior while learning. Behavior change is essential for achieving the SDGs. It is expected that the research results of behavior change pioneered by mobility management will contribute to the SDGs.
