Training highly specialized professionals able to respond to the changes seen in medical care
?

With the progress of science and technology, medical care has become more sophisticated and advanced, and advanced medical technology has been introduced for many diseases, with the cure rate of diseases and quality of life also seeing improvements. Meanwhile, with Japan seeing a declining birthrate and aging population, the medical structure is undergoing reform. Thus, the scope of medical care is expanding to preventive and health promotion in addition to the diagnosis and treatment of conventional diseases. In order to respond to such changes in medical care, we have established the Division of Radiological Sciences and the Division of Nursing at the Graduate School of Health Sciences of the Fukuoka Campus. In the Division of Radiological Sciences, we aim to have students become highly specialized professionals armed with the flexibility to handle advanced and diversified technologies and armed with highly specialized knowledge and abilities that can be put into practice by those individuals. We are also aiming to train educators and researchers armed with superior research and development abilities along with a rich sense of creativity. At the Division of Nursing of Nursing, we aim to have students acquire backgrounds as researchers able to scientifically analyze phenomena related to nursing science and become highly specialized professionals able to contribute to the building of comprehensive care systems as a key persons serving to connect health, medical care, and welfare through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Message from the Dean

As medicine progresses rapidly, not only the content of medical care, but also the medical care delivery system and the environment surrounding medical care are undergoing major changes. Modern medical care is centered on Team Medical Care by multiple medical professionals with high expertise, and each member of the team is required to have advanced knowledge and practical skills, but we also need people who go a step further and have practical problem-solving skills that can respond to medical advances and changes in medical care. In other words, in the clinical field, we need people who have a wide range of knowledge and skills beyond those acquired in undergraduate education, as well as people who strive to improve their management skills. Graduate School of Health Sciences at Fukuoka Campus aims to train people who are always interested in the trends of the times and strive to acquire further knowledge and improve their practical skills through research in their majors, as well as educators and researchers. We welcome those who want to acquire advanced specialized knowledge and practical skills, those who want to acquire abstract thinking and hypothetical thinking skills, and those who aim to become educators and researchers in the future.
