Striving to nurture professionals
who will uphold the future of medicine
As medical care becomes more sophisticated and specialized, team medical care is becoming more and more important. Since 2012, Itabashi Campus has been able to provide integrated education for four years, and the three faculties of School of Medicine, Faculty of Pharma-Science, and Faculty of Medical Technology have been placed together on the same campus, facilitating communication between students from different faculties. In addition, students can learn practical team medical care by studying common medical undergraduate courses such as "Human Communication" together. Moreover, since the hospital affiliated with the Faculty of School of Medicine is adjacent, the university is not only an ideal place for practical training, but also a place to nurture knowledgeable, skilled technicians who learn with constant awareness of what occurs on the frontlines of state-of-the-art medicine.
Fostering medical engineers required in the modern age
The Faculty of Medical Technology aims to train good medical engineers who are knowledgeable, skilled, cultured, ethical, creative, and able to solve problems.
Practical training at the affiliated hospital and the adjacent orthopedic clinic helps students understand what is required in the actual field. Students aim to qualify for the national examination by deepening their knowledge and skills through numerous practical training opportunities.
What is required in modern medicine today? Our graduates, who have acquired knowledge and skills that will be useful in society, have been active as skilled medical technicians in a wide variety of fields.
In the medical field, simply having knowledge is not enough. Medical professionals must also be able to take appropriate actions based on that knowledge. For this reason, each department and course provides an optimal environment that allows students apply what they have learned in lectures.
Team medical care, which brings together various medical professionals such as doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, radiologists, clinical psychologists, and pharmacists, is indispensable in modern medicine. Furthermore, from the standpoint of preventive medicine, the medical technology profession is essential. In order to train excellent medical technicians (medical staff) with ethical standards and communication skills, a well-equipped training facility is required. For this reason, one of the strengths of our Faculty of Medical Technology is that students can learn in an optimal setting through beneficial mutual cooperation in the new integrated environment of the Tokyo Itabashi Campus, where the Teikyo University School of Medicine, affiliated hospital, and Faculty of Pharma-Science have been located since April 2012. Under the thorough guidance of experienced faculty and staff in the medical field, we nurture medical technicians whose training will be applicable immediately after graduation.
