In addition to study abroad and overseas training, cross-cultural exchange and language learning are available through the support and exchange of international students. The following is an introduction to the various international exchanges that expose students to the world on campus.
Our university has a student-centered organization called "International Exchange Assistants", which aims to support international students. The purpose of this group is to ease the worries of international students as they enter a new environment, to make their study abroad life more meaningful, and to promote interaction between current students and international students.
International Exchange Assistants
Resident assistants are students who live together with study abroad students in an international dormitory and provide support to dormitory students on a daily basis so that international students can lead a safe and comfortable dormitory life. We plan events in the dormitory where dormitory students can interact with each other, and support the operation of the dormitory.
It opened in 2021 on Hachioji Campus as a language commons centered on the Japanese language. The space, based on the concept of a Japanese house, includes a Japanese language learning space [SHOSAI], a meeting space [CHANOMA], an interview room, an exhibition space, as well as the International Exchange Division, which is responsible for accepting international students and studying abroad. It is a place for interaction between Japanese students and international students, where they can experience different cultures and globalization on campus and create free ideas and diverse values.
This space consolidates the language-related student support functions of the Hachioji Campus. As a campus-wide learning support space and a symbol of the globalization of the campus, this space supports language education at the University from many angles. It creates a comfortable atmosphere where students can enjoy meeting the people and events necessary to improve their language skills while gaining awareness, opportunities, and resources.
Hachioji Campus offers a variety of extracurricular courses. The English conversation course is a lesson taught by a native Senior Assistant Professor, and you can also experience foreign cultures. TOEIC? courses are offered at different levels, allowing students to acquire skills from the basics to the advanced level.
