?
Nurturing specialists working on the solving of problems
for economic society from a broad perspective

In addition to the two majors of Economics and Management, the Graduate School of Economics saw the new establishment of Division of Regional Economics and Policy in 2016. As avenues through which students take part in the higher learning of the fundamental areas of knowledge when it comes to economic society, all of these majors are aimed at nurturing specialists able to tackle problem solving from a broad perspective through cooperation with each other. Many lectures are offered for both of the majors so that we can foster the growth of people able to perform on the international stage as individuals responsible for the running of our economy and the management of corporations in the 21st century. We are also working to enhance Graduate School education by undertaking efforts such as the introduction of systems involving main exercises and sub-exercises.

Message from the Dean

The Graduate School of Economics provides three majors: Economics, Management, and Regional Economics and Policy. With each major, we aim to nurture talent able to tackle the solving of problems based on complex perspectives through the conducting of more advanced learning while at the same time maintaining mutual cooperation. We are focused on the training of professionals able to perform on the international stage and who can take charge of the running of our economy and the management of corporations in today’s global economy. With that being the case, we are putting our efforts into facilitating the acquisition of the ability to analyze real-world problems from broad perspectives and subsequently come up with concrete solutions.

Many of the lectures are offered in multiple majors. Students can study in a wide range of fields regardless of their major. For example, when going with the tax accountant training program, students mainly take courses related to tax law and bookkeeping/accounting, and can be provided with wide range of educational instruction that applicable in both areas. In our MBA program, which requires a wide range of sensibilities when it comes to management and economics, students can receive instruction in both fields of management and economics. We are also striving to enhance the education provided by our Graduate School by introducing meticulous academic exercise systems for each major so that students maintain close contact with their professors.

The Graduate School of Economics will always strive to provide a fulfilling learning and research environments for students who will be leading the next generation in our globalized economy.
