Target Audience
Students must be admitted through the general selection process at Teikyo University School of Medicine (Fukushima Prefecture special entrance examination quota), and must be covered by the "Career Development Pre-Graduation Support Plan" established by Fukushima Prefecture while enrolled, and the "Career Development Program" established by Fukushima Prefecture after graduation, and must be able to pledge to work as a doctor at a medical institution designated by Fukushima Prefecture.

*The amount equivalent to the entrance fee will be loaned as a lump sum at the time of enrollment (only for those who request it), up to a maximum of 1 million yen.

Regular enrollment period as stipulated by the school regulations (6 years)
* Tuition loans will not be provided during periods when a student is on leave of absence or suspended from school, or during periods when a student repeats a year.

In order to secure doctors for regional medical care, our university has established its own scholarship system. Selection is made in the second semester 1st year based on a combination of academic performance after enrollment, interviews, and application documents.

Target Audience
Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Applicants must apply for a medical scholarship from Fukushima, Chiba, Ibaraki, Shizuoka, or Niigata prefectures (those in cooperation with our university) and intend to work for a specified period at a medical institution designated by the prefecture after graduating from our university, or to work for a specified period at a branch hospital of our university's School of Medicine.
  • Those who have graduated from high school or secondary school in March 2024 or are expected to graduate in March 2025.
  • Those who have excellent grades and are physically and mentally sound.

Conditions for exemption from refund
If the following requirements are met, the repayment obligation may be waived.

  • Medical license
    Obtain a medical license within two years of graduating from university
  • Initial Clinical Training
    Those who receive prefectural scholarships will undergo initial clinical training in accordance with the loan regulations of each prefecture.
    Those who do not receive prefectural scholarships will undergo initial clinical training at a branch hospital.
  • Work after initial training
    Those who receive prefectural scholarships must work in accordance with the loan regulations of each prefecture.
    Those who do not receive prefectural scholarships will work at a branch hospital.
  • Duty period of work
    Work for a period equivalent to 1.5 times the loan period of the university (uniform 9 years)

If any of the following applies to you, you will be required to return the entire amount of the scholarship by the specified date.

  • When a recipient of a prefectural scholarship must repay the scholarship to the prefecture in accordance with the prefecture's loan regulations. However, this does not include individuals who began working at the university branch hospital during the term of their mandatory service.
  • Those who do not receive the prefecture's study funds
  1. When the loan is canceled
  2. When you do not get a doctor's license within 2 years after graduating from university
  3. When initial training or work becomes impossible due to reasons other than work
