Overview of the Division of Law
From legal education to legal research Since 2010, our Faculty of Law has been pursuing a more practical legal education by drastically reorganizing its curriculum to strengthen its preparation for civil service examinations and other tests. The Graduate School of Law of Teikyo University is expanding this legal education toward "legal research" and emphasizing further deepening legal research and creating talented individuals useful to society. Through the Master's and Doctoral Programs, students will conduct legal research centered on case methods (case studies) and acquire a legal mindset.
Training of legal practitioners The main focus of the Master's Program is to train working professionals with highly specialized knowledge and the ability to think logically. Upon completion of the Master's program, students will be able to enter the workforce as tax accountants, legal professionals, and other practitioners. The Doctoral Program educates students to become researchers and professionals engaged in advanced legal work.
Grades will be announced on CampusSquare every semester (at the end of the academic year for students taking only full-time courses). However, for the second and fourth semester of the Master's Program and the third and sixth semester of the Doctoral Program, the university will distribute a report card with the result of completion (pass or fail). Master's degree program
The number of credits required to complete is 30 credits.
Students in the Certified Public Tax Accountant Course must take at least two courses of 4 credits from Tax Law Research I through VIII.
You can take classes of the same subject in duplicate.
Comprehensive research: This course is designed to deepen students' knowledge of fields related to their dissertation in order to prepare a dissertation, and to acquire the methodology necessary for writing a thesis.
When you take the neseccary credits and pass the thesis examination, you will complete.
Doctoral Program
The number of credits required to complete is 4 credits.
There is no distinction between elective and compulsory courses. However, students are required to take the same course for three consecutive years under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
When you take the neseccary credits and pass the dissertation examination, you will complete.
Even if the required number of credits is fulfilled, failure to submit or fail to pass the doctoral dissertation will result in dismissal from the program at the end of the term.
