Educational Purposes

The Department of Information Science Correspondence Course has acquired a wide range of education and basic knowledge and skills in information science by providing learning opportunities that are not restricted by time or place, in line with the purpose of the Faculty of Faculty of Science and Engineering and Engineering. The purpose is to develop specialized human resources who can respond to the highly information-oriented society.

The Correspondence Course of the Department of Information Science of Information Science aims to develop specialized human resources who have acquired a wide range of education and basic knowledge and skills in information science and can respond to the highly information-oriented society. A degree will be awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. You can acquire a foreign language through independent and continuous learning, and make comprehensive judgments based on basic education such as humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
  2. You can acquire basic knowledge of information science and information engineering to applied technology and effectively utilize it in the advanced information society.
  3. It is possible to develop and build information systems that support and execute information processing.
  4. It is possible to analyze and integrate various problems in the highly information-oriented society from various aspects, set issues, and solve them through continuous efforts.

In order to acquire the abilities required for the awarding of a degree, the Correspondence Course of the Department of Information Science organizes the curriculum according to the following policy. Each subject will be offered as a text lesson, a schooling lesson, or a media lesson via the Internet so that students can study without being restricted by time or place.

  1. Courses in fields such as foreign languages, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences will be provided so that students can acquire a wide range of education.
  2. Information literacy-related subjects, mathematics subjects necessary for information science, programming subjects, and information science and information engineering-related subjects will be provided so that students can acquire and utilize information science and information engineering from basic knowledge to applied technology.
  3. Information system-related courses, programming courses, and practice courses will be provided so that students can acquire the knowledge and skills to develop and build information systems.
  4. Exercises will be set up so that students can acquire problem analysis, integration, problem setting, and solution skills in the information field.

Therefore, in addition to the science and mathematics knowledge that forms the basis of science and engineering studies, it is important that students have the thinking skills, language skills, and cooperative attitude needed to acquire new knowledge and concepts. We are looking for applicants who have the following abilities, background, and motivation through their studies and activities at high school, etc.

  1. Students have the basic academic skills necessary to study in their desired specialized department and to acquire new knowledge and concepts.
