The Nagai Seminar Hachioji Campuscarried out the 2024 TABLE FOR TWO activity.

From June to December 2024, the seminar of Lisa Nagai, Senior Assistant Professor Department of Economics Faculty of Economics Teikyo University, carried out an activity at Soratio Kitchen and Tsutayukan Cafeteria to offer TFT menus with an additional 20 yen to cover the school lunch costs for children in developing countries.
TFT is an abbreviation for TABLE FOR TWO, and is an initiative promoted by the international non-profit organization TABLE FOR TWO International, which aims to eliminate the food imbalance between lifestyle-related diseases caused by food, such as obesity in developed countries, and the problems of hunger and malnutrition in developing countries, and to improve the health of both groups at the same time. When you purchase a TFT menu, 20 yen will be donated for each meal, which will be used to pay for school lunches for children in developing countries. This initiative, which was started by the first-year students of Nagai's seminar in 2021 in an attempt to do what they could even during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now in its fourth year. Now, with the support of the cafeteria chief and Senior Assistant Professor Nagai, students are taking the lead in coming up with the menu, setting the prices, publicizing the program, and selling the food on the day. This year, we offered four types of TFT menus at the Seisha Festival, and in collaboration with our university's Global Initiative Office we offered a menu that combined Onigiri Action *1 and TFT, and we also tried new things. The students' activities gradually became recognized on campus, and many students, faculty and staff purchased TFT menus, resulting in 2,942 meals sold in 2024 and a total of 6,831 meals sold since 2021.

Ikki Koizumi (4th year, Faculty of Economics), a third-year student in Nagai's seminar who served as seminar leader last year, said, "I applied to Nagai's seminar because I wanted to provide TFT desserts, so I'm happy that we were able to provide acai yogurt at this year's Seisha Festival. We made improvements last year, such as clarifying the concept of the menu we provide and increasing the number of meals we serve, and this year we realized that TFT is recognized both inside and outside the university. I hope that our juniors will continue this activity in the future." Yoshiki Matsuoka (3rd year, Faculty Faculty of Economics), a fourth-year student in Nagai's seminar who acted as a TFT leader this year, said, "As a TFT leader, I worked on thinking up TFT menus, holding meetings with the cafeteria staff, and promoting understanding of TFT among seminar students. In the first semester, I had a lot of trouble because I was not used to things like schedule management and adjusting cost rates, but in the second semester, I focused on advertising and was able to sell steadily. Next year, I would like to increase the number of repeat customers and exceed the number of meals sold this year." Looking back on this year's activities, Takuho Nagoya (Faculty of Economics of 2024), a second-year student in Nagai's seminar who supported the students, said, "Although the number of meals sold was stable this year, there were many areas for improvement in terms of the concept and calories, and I found it difficult to communicate this to my juniors. I hope that next year they will be clear about what they want to do when developing their menus."

The TFT activities will be taken over by the fifth-year students of Nagai's seminar. Nagai's seminar will continue to engage in social contribution activities, including TFT activities.
