On Friday, July 26, 2024, a regional quota student information session was held at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus for first- to fourth-year regional quota students in the School School of Medicine Department of Medicine at our university.
On the day, 16 School of Medicine students from five regions and alumni who had used the regional quota system while enrolled participated, deepening their friendship.
The event began with words of encouragement from Dean Kono Hirotaka, followed by an explanation about community medicine from Professor Sagawa Toshiyo. Each student then spoke about their thoughts on community medicine, including their future aspirations and their efforts to become good doctors who support community medicine.
Afterwards, we had a lecture by Maya Oshima, a first-year medical intern working at a hospital in Chiba Prefecture after graduating from our university using the Chiba Prefecture scholarship. The students listened intently to stories about their student days and career plans as doctors, and at the end of the meeting, the students exchanged information among themselves in a friendly atmosphere.
Teikyo University will continue to actively engage in Community Engagement in the future.
