On Thursday, June 6, 2024, the seminar of Lisa Nagai, Senior Assistant Professor Faculty of Economics Department of Economics, Teikyo University, held an SDGs seminar in collaboration with Asahi Yuasa Co., Ltd.
The Nagai seminar has been carrying out activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, such as offering a TFT menu at the student cafeteria on Hachioji Campus with an additional 20 yen to cover the school lunch fees for children in developing countries, and selling snacks at the university festival using "Mogu Cups," edible cup containers developed by Asahi Yu-As. The group has been working with the Asahi Group for several years to deepen its understanding of the SDGs.
In the first half of the seminar, Asahi Group's SDG initiatives and the products being developed by Asahi You-As were explained, and in the question and answer session that followed, many students asked questions based on their own experiences in the seminar, such as about collaborations with local governments and the collection of PET bottle caps.
In the second half of the seminar, students from Nagai's seminar proposed new product development and events that would utilize the products of Asahi Yu-As Co., Ltd. They accurately grasped the issues facing modern society and the features of Asahi Yu-As Co., Ltd.'s products, and their proposals for resolving these issues were evaluated with comments such as "There was a lot to learn and think about from a student's unique perspective," and "I was impressed that they were able to speak in their own words. Great presentation skills."
Nagai's seminar will continue to offer TFT menus and engage in activities aimed at achieving the SDGs, thereby contributing to society.
