Social Cooperation Sector Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization and the Sanbei and Owaki seminars Faculty of Economics gave a research report at UHA Mikakuto's Osaka headquarters.

In March 2024, Hotaka Nakanishi, Special Professor Social Cooperation Sector the Teikyo University Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization, Yuko Toda, Senior Assistant Professor at the same institute, Kohei Mikata, Senior Assistant Professor the Department of Department of Business Administration Faculty of Faculty of Economics, Junichi Owaki, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department Department of Economics, and a group of research collaborating students from the Mikata and Owaki seminars visited the Osaka headquarters of UHA Mikakuto Co., Ltd. to report on the results of their business management research on promoting the company's liquid toothpaste, UHA Shita Clear.

UHA Mikakuto Co., Ltd. is a leading Japanese confectionery manufacturer whose main products include Shigekix, Corolo, and e-ma throat lozenges. In recent years, the company has also been focusing on the healthcare business, and has developed the oral care material "DOMAC" through joint research with the University's Medical Mycology Research Center. "DOMAC" is expected to improve oral hygiene by reducing the number of bacteria in the oral cavity and tongue coating by inhibiting the growth of Candida fungi. The company has also released "UHA Shita Clear," a liquid toothpaste that utilizes "DOMAC," which also has an etiquette effect for general users, such as reducing bad breath.
Therefore, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, UHA Mikakuto and Teikyo University signed a joint research agreement to achieve the SDGs GOALS of "Good Health and Well-Being for All" and "Quality Education for All" under the research title "Exploring new ways of promoting and branding student-centered industry-academia collaboration products." Using "DOMAC" and "UHA Shita Clear," which were jointly developed by the two parties, as subjects, the research has been conducted with the aim of promoting the societal spread of health activities, with Nakanishi Hotaka, special Professor Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization as the research leader.
In February 2024, at the Hakone Seminar House of our university, UHA Mikakuto Co., Ltd. Executive Officer Yasuharu Matsukawa, Bio Product Development Department Leader Toshiaki Sasaki, and research collaborators consisting of students and graduates from our university's Sanbaku Seminar and Owaki Seminar jointly held an industry-academia collaborative research exchange workshop. In March 2024, the results of research on the sales promotion POP proposal for "UHA Shita Clear", which had been repeatedly considered in classrooms and at the seminar, were reported at UHA Mikakuto's Osaka headquarters. Matsukawa commented, "There were many proposals that could be reflected in sales promotion measures from next year onwards. Thank you for your heartfelt presentation."

This research is characterized by the fact that students from the Mikata and Owaki seminars are taking the lead in conducting industry-academia collaborative research with companies, and it also aims to give back to society Practical learning education of our university. In the future, our university will continue to strengthen social collaboration and industry-academia collaboration, and in order to connect the "knowledge" of our university to society, we will continue to promote the integration of the humanities and sciences, collaboration and cooperation that transcends academic fields, and the creation of a campus-wide research and education system, while disseminating the results of education and research aimed at solving the mounting social issues to society.
