Modern calligraphy is a style that has appeared in recent years and is attracting attention based on conventional calligraphy. Compared to calligraphy, which pursues beauty with uniform shapes and inclinations, modern calligraphy is attractive because it is free and highly artistic, and you can express your individuality in characters.
Started calligraphy from an early age, and worked as a calligrapher after working as a wedding planner. He also taught himself modern calligraphy and is active as a leading expert in modern calligraphy in Japan.

ストロークに慣れた後はアルファベットにステップアップし、最終的に文字をつないで単語を書けるまでに。「みなさん、習得が早いです」と島野さんも驚くほどの成長を遂げた。最後は約２時間の練習成果を披露するため、小さなカードに思い思いの言葉を清書してワークショップ終了！ 
「美しく仕上がっていますね。ぜひ何度も書いてみて、こっちの方が好きだなと文字の傾斜や筆圧の変化を工夫してみたり、自分らしい文字を表現してみてください。繰り返し書いて鍛錬した先に個性が広がっていくという点は書道と似ていると思います」と島野さん。学生たちも「書く感覚や集中の仕方が書道と似ていた」、「ペンの動かし方は筆とは違うけれど、手で書くという行為が好きなので楽しかった」と、書道とモダンカリグラフィーの違いや共通点を感じながら、文字を書くことの楽しさを再認識したようだ。

Japanese books are the same, aren't they? Even when investigating the authenticity of a work, it is possible to determine the authenticity because the difference in the breathing of the writer appears in the line. The breathing is different between what I wrote while looking at the model and what I wrote completely.
In terms of the range of expression, I feel that Japanese books are overwhelmingly wider than calligraphy. There are also variations of characters such as kana and kanji.
There may be differences in the characteristics of the tools used. Compared to moving the pen horizontally, the brush can be moved up and down, twisted, and the line thickness can be changed significantly.
If the penmanship is to faithfully reproduce the model, I think that calligraphy will expand its individuality after it has been repeatedly trained and cultivated knowledge and skills. I feel that such a place is similar to modern calligraphy.
I think the appeal of calligraphy is that you write it with your own hands, but that is also common. As with letters, handwriting is based on the precious feeling of doing something for someone. The root is important, and what kind of aesthetic sense should be inhabited should be based on each.
It's exactly the same as the charm of modern calligraphy that I feel. Now is the time when people don't write so much that some people can't remember the last time they wrote. Under such circumstances, I think that the preciousness of taking the time to move your hands, putting your thoughts on them, and delivering them to the other party is what makes them attractive.
