Learning Environment and Learning Support

We support you to build a self-learning attitude in terms of both equipment and operation.

In Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, we have created an environment where each student can use ICT devices to study on their own. We also provide detailed learning support in terms of both facilities and operations, such as providing various information for students' studies and setting up Research Center for Pharmaceutical Education to provide individual study consultations.

Education utilizing ICT

ICT equipment was introduced in 2012 and is now being used in classes.
Since 2012, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has been providing an environment for independent learning through the "Learning Support System (iPads were used for students enrolled until 2018, and compatible with various ICT devices such as PCs, iPads, and smartphones for students enrolled from 2019 onwards)." For example, handouts used in class are digitized and distributed online in association with the syllabus. Students can print these materials themselves, or view and manage them on ICT devices for their own use.

Achieve your goals with self-learning apps
Students can use ICT devices to answer questions in the same format as the CBT Common Test for Pharmaceutical Sciences, and check the answers and explanations. It can be used from 1st year, and students can check their academic ability according to the level of their grade while understanding the goals they will achieve in six years. In addition, the questions in the application can be extracted by keywords or lecture subject names, and are designed to avoid simple memorization, so students can firmly solidify the knowledge they have acquired.

learning support

In Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the learning support is provided mainly by the faculty of the Learning Support Committee and the Pharmaceutical Education Promotion Center (Learning Promotion Unit/School Attendance Support Unit). For lower-year students, we provide guidance on rational and effective learning methods for Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences students, support in creating study plans, and opportunities to do supplementary exercises in subjects in which they have not acquired sufficient academic ability, in order to improve their basic academic ability and promote self-directed learning. For upper-year students, we provide various efforts to improve students' overall academic ability, such as providing questions in the Pharmaceutical Common Examination CBT format and questions corresponding to the National Pharmacist Examination created by faculty of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and planning supplementary lectures. In addition, the Pharmaceutical Education Promotion Center Learning Promotion Unit (7th floor of the University Building Main Building) and School Attendance Support Unit (1st floor of Building 2) have set up study consultation spaces where students can receive study consultations upon request.

Life support
We have established a homeroom teacher system in which a full-time faculty member of Senior Assistant Professor level or higher provides individual support for each student in the small number of students. Students in grades 1 to 3 are supported by their homeroom teacher, and students in grades 4 to 6 are supported by the faculty member of their assigned laboratory. . In addition, we provide detailed support tailored to the needs of each student by receiving consultations at the Student Support Office of the Center for Medical Education and Research (university building main building basement 1st floor).

Future outlook

We intend further reinforcement for the learning environment and support system, such as video distribution of lectures and Pharmaceutical English apps.
In the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, in order to cultivate students' self-improvement ability and learning attitude, we intend further enhancement for the learning environment and support system without being satisfied with the current situation.
