Contribute to the further progress of the emergency relief system
We develop highly specialized professionals

In the Department of Division of Emergency Care, We cultivate "Abundant academic knowledge, high educational teaching and research ability in the field of emergency rescue and disaster prevention from the emergency scene to the medical institution.", "Scientific analysis, scientific basis improvement based on theoretical thinking", "high-quality emergency relief administration, management ability to cope with crisis management", and "communication ability to achieve good cooperation with related occupations and institutions". To enable working adults who continue to work after enrollment to continue their studies, we also offer a long-term enrollment system that allows students to systematically take and complete educational courses over a three-year period, beyond the two-year limit.

4 specialties

Emergency and first aid medicine field

We derive effective medical measures and treatment methods for the injured and sick in emergency relief activities, and consider the symptoms and conditions of emergency injured and sick patients to make decisions, provide medical treatment and transport and take over their care. We also identify the symptoms, signs, and conditions presented by exogenous injuries and illnesses, and consider how to identify and judge the severity and urgency of the situation, emergency medical treatment, and the proper transport and hospital selection appropriate for the condition. We consider the practical ability to train educational leaders who have acquired a high level of medical background that leads to comprehensive observation and reasoning from the perspective of emergency medicine of diagnostic methods implemented by physicians.

Emergency relief policy / administrative field

The emergency relief system includes emergency demand measures such as transportation for the elderly based on the super-aging society, extension of emergency activity time and problems with the emergency transportation system, problems with proper use of ambulances, increase in cases where it is difficult to select a hospital, and emergency medical system. We identify and analyze issues such as problems in the field of emergency relief activities, explore emergency administration plans for the future, and consider emergency policies and administrative organization management. In addition, we study accidents during work at the emergency site, public hearings, litigation, crisis management such as information disclosure and disclosure, secondary disasters (including accidents and infections), safety management, quality improvement of field activities with the MC Council, business operations and crisis management, such as security methods, management related to emergency medical knowledge and technology, and exploration of labor management for emergency medical technician.

Disaster / disaster prevention crisis management field

In recent years, there has been a growing concern about the possibility of major natural disasters such as windstorms, floods, earthquakes, and volcanic activity due to global warming, as well as complex disasters caused by the overlap of several natural disasters. In addition, with the threat of large-scale accidents such as transportation, special disaster accidents such as chemical disasters, and human-made disasters such as terrorism and bio-terrorism, we consider disaster and disaster risk management to develop practitioner skills and reduce disaster damage including "preventable disaster deaths" for emergency first aid activities (disaster relief activities) to practice responding to injured and sick people during these disasters. Furthermore, regarding "disaster / disaster prevention crisis management", we study disaster prevention crisis management from various large-scale disasters in the past, and consider effective medical response of emergency relief activities, further exploration of activity system and disaster education, and crisis management education such as disaster prevention education.
We also consider the ideal emergency relief system in the event of a disaster, such as examples of large-scale disasters in Japan and abroad, disaster risk management systems and education systems in other countries, international Emergency Relief Team, Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT), and cooperation with various government agencies.

Emergency relief education guidance field

Based on the characteristics of work and activities in the emergency relief workplace, we consider practical and basic educational guidance techniques and content, which differ greatly from one fire department to another and the educational philosophy and principles that form the basis of educational guidance from a leadership standpoint. We also study educational leadership skills and system that enables them to plan educational content based on educational elements arising from emergency care practice and the philosophy of the emergency care system.
