We are fully equipped with facilities such as Teikyo University Media Library Center (MELIC), where you can make use of a wealth of database materials, and training rooms for conducting empirical research, to acquire skills not only to transmit information, but also to capture, collect, analyze and report information using various methods and looking at things from a sociological perspective.

The computers in the Media Library Center (MELIC) handle databases of Asahi Shimbun and Mainichi Shimbun articles, and anyone can browse. The databases, which is expensive if using personally, can be used free of charge and it is useful for daily learning and report writing.

It is located on the 2nd floor of the Media Library Center (MELIC), open to all students on the Hachioji Campus. In the Department of Sociology uses for media content production training classes. By using general equipment distributed in the world, students can learn techniques that can be used regardless career.

Social research training room

Social research training room

This is a training room where students can learn about social research techniques such as field surveys and questionnaire surveys, and conduct empirical research. It is mainly used in classes related to social research in the Department of Sociology, seminar activities, and group study. There are materials such as survey equipment, past sample questions, and survey training reports, which is used for creating survey materials and tabulating and analyzing questionnaires.

On the 5th floor of Building No. 9 on Hachioji Campus, there is a common room operated by the students themselves, which was created with the aim of encouraging independent learning and support for students. This is a new learning base for Department of Sociology, with a focus on small-group practical subjects and a dedicated laboratory for research and practical training. Department of Sociology has a variety of ingenuity to bring out the autonomy of students, such as preparing special classes for small-group selection for students who are highly motivated to learn.
