We aim to foster human resources who can
contribute for the development of nursing
In the Division of Nursing, we aim to foster human resources who can contribute to the construction of the Community-based Integrated Care System as a key person who connect health, medical care, and welfare through inter-professional work.
Currently, medical care in Japan is at a major turning point toward the construction of Community-based Integrated Care System. We are moving from medical care that focuses on the treatment of illnesses toward “Supporting medical care” that focuses on the lives of patients and their families and supports the entire life and physical aspects. Also, we aim to not only recover from illness but also support maintenance and improvement of quality of life (QOL) while coexisting with illness. In order to guarantee "continuation of life with dignity in a familiar area", it is necessary to smoothly circulate the cycle of health and treatment, so we need specialized knowledge and skills for support for medical care life.
Based on these facts, in the [specialized subjects], we set up five areas of medical treatment support and nursing management at each life stage, "Maternal and Child Medical Treatment Support Area", "Adult / Elderly Medical Treatment Support Area", "Community Mental Medical Treatment Support Area", "Home Medical Care Support Area" and “Nursing Management Area”.
Students select one of these five areas and write thesis, but are required to look broadly outside the specialized area because it is important to understand Team Medical Care for fostering human resources who can contribute to Community-based Integrated Care System. Therefore, in this major, under the guidance of an academic advisor, at least one subject from other specialized fields will be taken as an elective compulsory subject.
The characteristics of learning in each area are as follows.
