Students will deepen understanding through proactive efforts and develop immediate fighting power through fieldwork

In the seminar activities of the Faculty of Education, students will deepen the understanding of pedagogy by proactively tackling the issues and actively holding discussions among students. In addition, by learning practically through various fieldwork such as social research experiences and mock lessons, we will develop immediate fighting power that are required in educational settings and companies.

Miwa Ikushima Seminar
Lifelong learning is not limited to children and schools, but is regarded as an activity in which people develop learning by facing issues related to modern society and community life throughout their lives, and explore the environment, significance, and possibilities of such activities.? It is a seminar of social pedagogy. Occasionally, I jump out of the university classroom and learn with the staff and local residents in the social education project held at the Hino City Central Community Center, and while touching the field where students deepen their interest in problems, people are connected and learning rooted in the local community. We are expanding our knowledge and discussing aspects of this.

Kazuhiro Kamada Seminar
At Kamada Seminar, students will pretend to be an elementary school teacher and give a mock lesson. In conducting the mock lessons, students will make a lesson plan "learning guidance plan" that teachers actually make at the elementary school. In the lesson plan, we will describe in detail how to write on the board and the contents of the lesson. When conducting a mock lesson, the students who listen to the lesson become elementary school students and evaluate the lesson.
In recent educational settings, new teachers are also required to be ready for action. We aim to develop teachers who grow in the field while learning the basics in our seminar, and create an environment where students can evaluate each other's lessons. We think it is the teacher's ability to give objective opinions in order to improve the lessons.

Kyoko Nakayama Seminar
Nowadays, anyone can travel abroad. In adiition, it has become easier to learn about foreign cultures and events through the Internet and television. Also, people who have connection to foreign countries live together in our area. On the other hand, as the world is becoming more globalized, there are also problems that we should resolve in cooperation around the world, such as global climate change or the spread of infectious diseases. Some of these are fun and some have to work towards a solution. Through literature research, discussions, workshops and fieldwork, you will learn how teachers bring up topics to these fun and problems in education.

Kiyone Ashizawa Seminar
Under the theme of "Understanding and supporting children with disabilities and other difficulties," we will actually experience the environment surrounding children with disabilities and deepen their understanding through presentations and discussions. For example, we will have a simulated experience of physical exercises in a state where it is difficult to move, and discuss with each other what we felt there. In addition, we will visit support places such as special needs schools and nursery schools, and contact with the actual activities and the thoughts of supporters through fieldwork. We aim to gain knowledge about children with disabilities and be able to think from the standpoint of children. Also. our purpose is to know and understand the site by interacting with the parties and supporters instead of reading the manual.
