Nagai Seminar carried out TFT (TABLE FOR TWO) activities as part of a "joint project between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the University" atHachioji Campus

On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the seminar of Lisa Nagai, Senior Assistant Professor the Department of Faculty of Economics at Teikyo University's Department of Economics, offered a TFT*2 menu item, "Daegutang bap made with green chili peppers from Izu Oshima," at the student cafeteria, Soratio Kitchen, on Hachioji Campus, as part of a "joint project between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the university" *1.
The joint project in which Nagai's seminar is participating, "Local Industry Creation Project Utilizing Idle Greenhouses - Passing on Oshima's Resources to the Next Generation," has been selected as a "Joint Project between Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Universities" for fiscal year 2025. The University of Electro-Communications is the representative of this joint project, with participation from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and Nagai's seminar at our university. By utilizing idle greenhouses and combining advanced cultivation and digital technologies, the project aims to achieve stable production of fresh pepper, a high-value-added food ingredient. Furthermore, the project will promote the creation and branding of local industries by verifying farming models at shared farms and developing menus using Oshima's agricultural products.
Nagai's seminar has been working on developing menus using agricultural products from Oshima, and this time they combined daegu tang bap (South Korea rice porridge) made with green chili peppers from Izu Oshima with TFT, a core activity of the seminar, to sell 109 servings. Akita Yuta (3rd year, Faculty of Economics) commented, "First of all, I'm happy that we were able to serve over 100 servings. We wanted to offer a menu with an international flavor, so we proposed the South Korea dish daegu tang bap. We tried many prototypes to see if we could use green chili peppers, a specialty of Izu Oshima, in this menu, which is characterized by its delicious spiciness, and we were able to incorporate it successfully. This year's TFT activities are coming to an end, but we aim to increase TFT's name recognition and would like to continue Nagai's seminar activities responsibly until the end."
Nagai's seminar will continue to work on promoting joint projects.
