"Tornado2025," a hackathon for students run in cooperation with Okinaga Research Institute was held atKasumigaseki Campus.

Tornado2025, a student hackathon sponsored by Teikyo University and run with operational cooperation from the university's Okinaga Research Institute, was held from Thursday, August 7th to Saturday, September 13th, 2025. Tornado is a hands-on online hackathon in which students from around the country work in teams to create products. Students selected through interviews are divided into groups, and each team is assigned a supporting company as a mentor. Teams are made up of one product owner, one designer, and three to four engineers, who work together to advance the project while fulfilling their respective roles.

A kickoff event was held at our university's Kasumigaseki Campus on Thursday, August 7th and Friday, August 8th, 2025. After a two-day ideathon on the theme of "Products that will improve our future," each team presented their plan and it was then reviewed.
Each team then spent about a month developing a product based on their plan, with the final presentation taking place at teamLab Studio on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The final presentations were evaluated based on four judging criteria: planning ability, design ability, engineering ability, and presentation ability, as well as the content of a question-and-answer session. Each team demonstrated their individuality in their presentations, and awards were awarded after rigorous judging. After the final presentation, the students were seen deepening their interactions with their mentors, judges, and other relevant parties as they reflected on the past month.
Our university will continue to contribute to society through various initiatives.
