Fukuoka CampusTeikyo University Fukuoka Campus Unites Freshmen for a Visionary Seminar

A Freshman Seminar was held at Teikyo University's Fukuoka Campus on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The purpose of this initiative is for new students at Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, who aspire to become medical professionals, to interact across department and course boundaries and discuss the common theme of "what is an ideal medical professional?", with the aim of utilizing the insights and discoveries they gain there in their four years of university life.

At the beginning of the seminar, there was some tension among the new students, but as self-introductions and discussions based on themes within groups progressed, smiles spread and it was clear that they gradually became more comfortable. In the group work, each group used a single sheet of poster paper and sticky notes to organize and classify their opinions through brainstorming, and then summarized their individual ideas. A representative of the group presented their thoughts, shared their opinions with the other groups, and had the opportunity to be exposed to diverse perspectives and ideas.
After the Freshman Seminar, a light music club performed a welcoming performance for the new students, and the new students were seen enjoying themselves along to the music. There was also a time set aside for club introductions by the Student Association Management Office and for new students to complete the membership procedures, providing a good opportunity for the new students to learn how to enjoy university life and specific activities by talking directly with upperclassmen. The new students had the opportunity to make new friends through club activities, and were excited about a fulfilling student life.

At Fukuoka Campus we will continue to work on developing medical professionals who can play an active role in the community.
