Professor Maki Sugimoto wins the top prize at the Tokyo Social Innovation Tech Award 2024

On Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Tokyo Social Innovation Tech Award 2024 awards ceremony, a project sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to promote the resolution of social issues using advanced technology, Professor Masaki Sugimoto of the Innovation Lab Okinaga Research Institute of Teikyo University and his colleagues were awarded the top grand prize.

The Tokyo Social Innovation Tech Award 2024 aims to promote the dissemination of outstanding solutions from small and medium-sized enterprises in Tokyo by evaluating and selecting them and supporting matching with business partners, thereby accelerating the resolution of social issues facing the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. This year, Holoeyes Inc., a Teikyo University-based venture company founded and represented by Professor Sugimoto, was selected as the winner of the Grand Prize for its outstanding solution from among 107 applications.

The award-winning medical imaging XR metaverse system "Holoeyes" (medical device) aims to resolve social issues by making medical technology explicit, thereby correcting regional medical disparities, improving communication, and promoting the efficient use of medical resources.
