On Thursday, November 21, 2024, a cheer baton pass and advice session was held at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus for students who passed the 2024 teacher recruitment examination and students who plan to take the examination in the following year or later. The purpose of this event is to deepen the bond between seniors and juniors who will be working with the same local government in the future by having the fourth-year students who will be starting their teaching career in April tell their juniors how to study and prepare for the teacher recruitment examination, and by having the third-year students send words of encouragement.
At the cheer baton pass session, following a greeting from Yamada Shigetoshi, Head of Center for Teacher Education, a panel discussion was held, moderated by the coordinator, where participants discussed topics such as "Why did you choose your local government?", "When did you start preparing?", "Difficulties and setbacks?", and "Most memorable questions from interviews." The fourth-year students sent a message of encouragement to the third-year students, saying, "It's important not to give up even if you fail. Just keep trying." Finally, the third-year students commented, "The panel discussion helped me learn about things I was wondering about," and "I'd like to use today's discussion when planning my study schedule in the future."
Afterwards, advice sessions were held for each municipality, where fourth-year students gave direct advice to third-year students about how to prepare and tackle the teacher recruitment exam, deepening their interactions with them.
