Itabashi CampusStudents from the Department of Department of Nursing Faculty of Medical Technology, participated as volunteers in the "Kita Ward Parents' Association for Children with Physical Disabilities"

On Saturday, November 30, 2024, students from Department of Nursing Faculty of Medical Technology, Teikyo University participated as volunteers in the "Kita Ward Parents' Association for Children with Physical Disabilities Refreshing Social Gathering." The Kita Ward Parents' Association for Children with Physical Disabilities was founded in 1965 with the philosophy of "enabling children with disabilities to live in safety and security with a sense of purpose in their community, no matter how severe their disability," and is an organization that holds fun gatherings, study sessions, and training sessions.
This time, I was able to participate in the preparations for the social gathering and enjoyed recreational activities with all the participants. I realized that there are many different types of people living in the community, and learned the importance of providing nursing care that respects the thoughts and wishes of each person, regardless of the presence or degree of disability.
Department of Nursing will continue to strive to acquire knowledge and skills to realize a society in which the community can coexist, and will continue to engage in social contribution activities.
