Our University Cultural Properties Research Institute concludes collaborative research agreement with Fukui Prefectural Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins Museum

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Research Institute of Cultural Properties, Teikyo University signed a collaborative research agreement with the Fukui Prefectural Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins Museum. The purpose of this agreement is to strengthen the system for smooth collaborative research and collaborative projects on "the production and distribution of lead products in medieval cities."

At the Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins, one of Japan's leading urban ruins from the Warring States period, a wide variety of lead products, including bullets and lead materials, have been uncovered through excavation surveys conducted over more than half a century. By conducting research on these lead products from both the natural science and archaeological perspectives, we will shed light on the actual production and distribution of lead products during the Warring States period. The results of this collaborative research will be made public from time to time in exhibitions at the Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins Museum. Please keep an eye out for future research results.
