The 58th Seisha Festival was held on Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th, 2024, at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus. The theme for this year, set by the Seisha Festival Executive Committee, which is involved in the operation of the festival, is "Creative and Dynamic Flowers," and it is hoped that the visitors' creativity will be invigorated and that the atmosphere will be filled with beauty, liveliness, and fun. We were blessed with good weather on both days, and more than 12,000 people attended, the highest number ever.
This year's Seisha Festival was a huge success, with a variety of exciting events taking place in WakuWaku Wonderland, which was made up of four areas: festival, sports, air play equipment and a stage. These included a hero show by the Action Club, outdoor food stalls, a student wrestling stage, exhibitions in classrooms, and live music and comedy shows featuring special guests.
On the first day, our university's Chairman and President Yoshihito Okinaga visited and participated in various events. Although he had limited time, he was able to visit each area, interacting with international students at the Global Festa held at Ouchi Commons, purchasing fair trade coffee at the stall of Faculty of Language Studies Obata Seminar, and viewing the Railway Research Club's exhibition, and was seen having interesting conversations with the students in charge. He also stopped by the Co-Reading Festa held at the Media Library Center, where he interacted with students from the Co-Reading Supporters, an organization that promotes co-reading by "reading, recommending, and reviewing" books.
The venue was also livened up by the impressive performances of the designated strengthening clubs Cheerleading Club club, the karate club, and the calligraphy club, as well as the autumn concert by the brass band, and the lively students could be seen in each area of the campus. Thank you to everyone who came.
