Ekiden (Road Relay) Club placed 8th in the All Japan University Ekiden, earning a seeded spot

At the 56th All-Japan Inter-University Ekiden Championships (All-Japan Inter-University Ekiden) held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 (National Holiday), the Teikyo University Ekiden (Road Relay) Club placed 8th and earned a seeded spot in the next tournament. This tournament is one of the three major ekiden races in the world of university ekiden racing, and 25 universities that have passed the regional selection process compete over 106.8 km in eight sections from Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture to Ise Shrine in Ise City, Mie Prefecture.

The temperature was higher than usual, making it difficult for the runners, but the runners showed good flow from the beginning of each section. At one point, they fell to a position outside the seeded range, but five out of eight runners from our university were able to run in single digits for their section, finishing in eighth place and earning a seed for the first time in four years.

We would like to thank everyone for their support. We hope you will continue to support our university's Ekiden (Road Relay) Club.
