Hachioji CampusStudents from Department of Elementary Education conducted sales activities with students from Nanao Special Needs School, Tokyo

On July 9 (Tuesday), September 26 (Thursday), and October 8 (Tuesday), 2024, at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus, students from the University's Faculty of Education Department of Elementary Education held sales activities with students from Tokyo Metropolitan Nanao Special Needs School. The department has been collaborating with Nanao Special Needs School for the purpose of developing educational activities, and this event was part of such efforts.
On the day of the event, the food processing, recycling, and craft groups of the Nanao Special Needs School sold cookies and other baked goods, calendars and other paper products, and pouches and other fabric products made by the school's high school students. The event was so successful that there was a line of teachers and students waiting in line at one point, and the students and teachers were able to sell out all of their products by taking on various tasks such as calling out to people, explaining about the products, accounting, and serving drinks.
The students who participated in the event were students who are taking a special needs school teacher certification course, and it was a valuable opportunity for them to deepen their understanding of how to deal with students with disabilities and how to provide professional guidance to them.
Faculty of Education Department of Elementary Education will continue to promote educational collaboration with Nansei Special Needs School and strive to contribute to the community and develop educational activities.
