On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Teikyo University Barbell Club participated in the 5th Kanto Student Physique Championships held at Fussa Civic Hall (Fussa City, Tokyo). Akiyoshi Yamada (3rd year, Faculty of Liberal Arts) won the 176 cm and under class, Kotaro Sashida (3rd year, Faculty of Economics) won 4th place in the over 176 cm class, and the team also won 3rd place. This tournament was a very high-level competition with an increase in the number of participants, with 140 people entering, the highest number ever, but Yamada and Sashida performed well and earned the right to participate in the All-Japan Student Championships.
In addition, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, six students from the Barbell Club participated in the 64th Kanto Student Bodybuilding Championships held at Akishima Civic Hall (Akishima City, Tokyo). This tournament was also a very high-level competition with over 100 entries. Unfortunately, the Barbell Club students missed out on advancing to the finals, but by competing in a high-level competition, each student's challenges became clear and they were able to gain meaningful experience that will be useful in the future.
At the Barbell Club, we respect each member's goals and work hard at training while cooperating with each other. We appreciate your continued support for the Barbell Club.
