A student from the calligraphy club won a special prize at the 40th Yomiuri Calligraphy Exhibition atHachioji Campus

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, the final judging for the 40th Yomiuri Calligraphy Exhibition, Japan's largest public calligraphy exhibition, was held at Sunshine City Cultural Center (Toshima-ku, Tokyo). Sato Yuuki (2nd year Graduate School of Liberal Arts) and Kyoda Yujin (2nd year Graduate School of Liberal Arts) from Teikyo University's Calligraphy Club won the Special Selection Award, the highest award in the public category, and 10 other club members were selected. In addition, Kawashima Yuya, assistant director of the Calligraphy Club at our university, won the Yomiuri Encouragement Award for her work submitted by the Board of Trustees, and many other alumni won awards, highlighting the achievements of those involved with our university's Calligraphy Club.
