The 11th Japanese Society for Medical Mycology's Dermatological Mycosis Instructor Seminar was held at Teikyo University Institute of Medical MycologyHachioji Campus

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Japanese Society for Medical Mycology held its 11th Dermatological Mycosis Instructor Training Seminar at the Medical Mycology Research Center on Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus. Koichi Makimura, Deputy Head of Center of the Medical Mycology Research Center, and Rui Kano, Professor at the same center, gave lectures.

The purpose of this seminar was to improve diagnostic capabilities for Dermatology mycoses. It was supervised by Senior Assistant Professor and practitioners from Saitama Medical University Medical Center, Teikyo University Chiba Medical Center, Kanazawa Medical University Department of Dermatology, Meiji Pharmaceutical University, and our university's Medical Mycology Research Center, all of which are affiliated with the Japanese Society for Medical Mycology. Dermatology, clinical clinical laboratory technician, and veterinarians from all over the country involved in the diagnosis and testing of skin mycoses participated.
On the day, lectures were given from various perspectives on fungal skin diseases, KOH direct microscopy, fungal culture methods, etc., as well as specific practical training required for measures against dermatomycosis, such as KOH direct microscopy, fungal culture, slide culture, and morphological identification using the tape method, which was highly evaluated by the participants. Afterwards, the participants were presented with a certificate of completion in the name of Chairman Society of Medical Mycology. Teikyo University Institute of Medical Mycology will continue to actively conduct research and educational activities related to medical mycological diseases.
