Teikyo International Summer School held at ItabashiItabashi Campus, welcoming international students from the United States, Indonesia, and Thailand

Teikyo Graduate School Graduate School of Public Health held the Teikyo International Summer School from Saturday, June 29 to Saturday, July 6, 2024. We welcomed graduate Graduate School from the Global Health Master's Program at University of Southern California School of Medicine, which is an academic partner institution, as well as Graduate School from Atma Jaya University in Indonesia and the School of Public Health at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, who gave lectures in English together with our students.

In the Healthcare Management course taught by Professor Yoshinori Nakata of the Graduate School of Medicine, the students mainly lectured on organizational management. After learning about key topics related to management, such as leadership and communication, they participated in group discussions and presentations using case studies. In the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Aging Society course taught by Associate Associate Professor School of Medicine, students learned about the current state and history of Japan's health care system, as well as an overview of UHC, a global development issue, and studied UHC in the aging societies that the world is facing.

During the school, we also visited the Taito Public Health Center and the Kaga Sakuranomori Special Nursing Home in Tokyo with their cooperation. The students presented their work in groups, which provided an opportunity for active learning and allowed them to propose ideas for future improvements, deepening their understanding of public health in Japan.
This year, students from four countries, including Japan, participated in the program. By gathering together in one place, students from different cultures could be seen chatting together not only during lectures but also during breaks and after school.

Teikyo University will continue to provide an international environment and practical learning opportunities to nurture global talent. We hope to expand the network of students studying at our university, both domestically and internationally.
