An internship on career choice and inquiry-based learning was held at Teikyo University Utsunomiya Campus on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. This project is aimed at high school students, who can choose a topic that interests them from lectures, experiential classes, and laboratory experiences by our faculty from each faculty department of humanities, science, and medicine, create a timetable, and experience university classes throughout the day, which will help them choose a faculty and make inquiry-based learning.
On the day, over 1,300 high school students from inside and outside the prefecture visited the school, and in addition to teachers from our Utsunomiya Campus Itabashi Campus Hachioji Campus participated, and over 157 courses were held, including humanities, science, and medicine. In the experiential classes, students from Utsunomiya Campus were seen explaining the courses as assistants and assisting the students in the experience, which was a good opportunity for high school students to interact with students and help them imagine their future. Participating high school students shared their impressions, such as, "I took lectures in various fields, and I gradually learned about what I'm interested in," "I had a lot of fun learning a lot of things I didn't know before," and "I was able to choose a field that interested me and listen to a course that I can use in the future. I went to listen to a course because I was interested in psychology, and it was a good opportunity to hear more about psychology."
Our Utsunomiya Campus will hold an open campus on Sunday, July 21st. Please see our website for details. All faculty, staff, and students look forward to seeing you there.
