A workshop was held for medical studentsItabashi Campus to learn communication skills from a Nippon Television announcer.

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, we held a workshop for medical students at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus to provide practical learning on basic work skills and communication abilities.
This time, students and Graduate School students from School of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Faculty of Medical Technology learned about true communication through active learning while participating in a workshop with Nippon Television announcer Ralph Suzuki. They learned what perspectives announcers who deal with many people value when interviewing others, and how to use those perspectives to acquire the communication skills essential for Team Medical Care. They further deepened their understanding by outputting their knowledge through the workshop. In addition, by working in pairs with students from other departments and years who they would not normally have contact with, they were able to gain new insights about themselves.
Participating students shared their thoughts, saying, "I was able to learn once again the importance of trying to have a conversation while considering the other person," "I learned the difficulty of conveying something in words and the importance of having a wide range of skills to communicate with others," and "I want to use what I learned today in my everyday life," and were reminded of the importance of communication.
Teikyo University will continue to provide practical learning opportunities in order to respond to the diverse needs of society and strive to cultivate talented people who can thrive.
