Halal food tasting event heldHachioji Campus

On Monday, May 27, 2024, a halal food tasting event was held at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus. Halal food is food that is permitted to be eaten according to Islamic law, such as vegetables, fruits, grains, and seafood. This tasting event was planned to hear students' opinions directly as we begin serving halal food on Hachioji Campus in order to create an environment where students can live comfortably, taking into consideration cultural and religious differences, as we accept international students from various countries and regions at our Hachioji campus.

On the day, many students, both international and Japanese, participated in the tasting event, sampling curry, instant noodles, snacks and other items that had been given the Halal certification mark, and sharing their opinions on what would be good to have available for purchase on campus, with many frank opinions such as "It's close to the local taste and delicious," and "I think international students would accept it more if it was a little spicier." Going forward, the plan is to collect the opinions of the students and begin offering the products in the campus cafeteria and convenience stores one by one as soon as they have been decided.
