Hachioji Campusstudents participated in Borussia Dortmund (BVB) overseas sports management training

From February 6th (Tuesday) to February 13th (Tuesday), 2024, Borussia Dortmund (BVB), which has an academic research partner agreement with Teikyo University, collaborated to participate in an 8-day overseas sports event for 21 students from our university. Management training was conducted in Germany.

The training was held at BVB's home game stadium, Signal Iduna Park, and included lectures on handball, BVB's brand strategy, digital strategy, fan engagement, player development, and collaboration with schools, as well as stadium tours and We also had a tour of the training facility.

In fieldwork conducted by students themselves, students contacted and conducted interviews with research organizations such as Bundesliga 1st and 2nd division clubs and the Sportschule on the themes of sponsorship, internationalization strategies, multi-sport, and development. Each group conducted a research survey. We also interacted with local German citizens through on-the-street interviews. In addition, for the first time, I attended a lecture at Bayer Leverkusen, which currently leads the Bundesliga, and learned about Leverkusen's business strategy and internationalization strategy, which unlike BVB is run as a "corporate sport" with 100% of the shares held by private companies.
