A startup seminar was held to mark the start of theFukuoka Campus First Penguin Project.

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, with the cooperation of the Omuta City Industrial Promotion Division and the Omuta City Business Support Center, we invited Mr. Etsushi Hirose, Deputy Director of the Fukuoka Prefecture Credit Guarantee Association, to give a Senior Assistant Professor.
The Teikyo Fukuoka First Penguin Project, launched in 2024 for third-year students Department of Physical Therapy at Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, is a medical entrepreneurship club that aims to foster life design by spending a year thinking about future dreams and discovering social issues and exploring solutions. When considering solutions to social issues, knowledge of finance such as banking, finance, and fundraising is important, but there are few opportunities to learn about this in medical faculties, so we decided to have Mr. Hirose give a lecture at this startup seminar.

On the day, the lecture was titled "The Role of Credit Guarantee Systems and Startup Support," and began with the explanation that "finance is lending money," and was designed to be easy to understand and familiar. The lecture talked about startup support, which has been a hot topic in recent years, and the expanding possibilities including not only employment in the medical and nursing care fields but also starting businesses, and at the end, many questions were asked by both students and faculty. In the future, the students plan to use the knowledge they gained in the seminar to create business plans based on social issues and conduct simulations.

In the future, Fukuoka Campus will continue to develop human resources who will lead society as risk-takers, without being bound by existing concepts.
