Teikyo University baseball team pitcher Ryuto Sakae (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) from Saturday, June 22nd to Monday, June 24th, 2024.
This training camp was held for the purpose of selecting players to participate in two international tournaments, the 43rd Prague Baseball Week being held in the Czech Republic this month and the 31st Haarlem Baseball Week in the Netherlands. Sadly, Sakae's name was not on the list of representative players, but Sakae said, "It was a lot of fun to play baseball with such talented players, including pitcher Yuto Nakamura from Aichi Institute of Technology. There were many really high-level players, and I felt their high awareness of baseball even in their conversations, which made me realize what I am lacking." It can be seen that he was inspired by a lot of things, even though it was a short period of time. He also said, "I had a lot to talk to, especially with the pitchers, so I would like to share what I learned with my university teammates. And, although I realized how low my own level was during this training camp, I also felt that there was room for improvement. I will work hard to win the MVP and best pitcher awards for two consecutive seasons, as well as the best ERA award, and to win the league championship for two consecutive seasons and participate in the Meiji Jingu Baseball Tournament."
As the fall league begins in September, Sakae will be gaining valuable experience and approaching the game with renewed enthusiasm. Please continue to show your warm support to the baseball team.
