Department of Nursing graduate gives speech at Life Design Seminar

On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, three graduates from the Department of Nursing Faculty of Medical Technology, Teikyo University, gave lectures as Senior Assistant Professor in the Life Design Seminar III class.
The Life Design Seminar is positioned as Career-related courses at our university, and students in their first through fourth years will learn more about it in stages. This Seminar III is a compulsory subject for third-year students, and aims to deepen their understanding of the people who are the target of nursing care, to acquire the ability to study independently in order to grow as nursing professionals, and to have an outlook for future career development.

On the day of the lecture, alumni who graduated from our university in 2016 and 2018 and are now working as nurses, midwife, and industrial health nurses spoke about why they chose their current careers, how they approached their actual job-hunting, their passion for their work, and their future goals. Students listened intently while taking notes, and smiled and nodded as the graduates told stories from their time at the university. The lecture was conducted in a friendly atmosphere from start to finish, and in the Q&A session following the lecture, students asked questions about what makes their work rewarding, with each graduate carefully answering based on their own experiences. After the lecture, many students were seen surrounding the graduates to ask questions and seek their advice.
Our university will continue to undertake various initiatives to help students envision their future careers.
